I have one month to find a bride or I lose my daughter.
They say a tattoo artist with a dirty mouth can’t be a kickass father.
Bullsh*t. But my lawyer says I need a wholesome bride to convince the judge.
I know just the perfect girl—hell—I think she might even be a virgin.
Only problem? She’s my sister’s best friend, and she hates my guts.
When my best friend's brother asks me to marry him, I nearly slap him in the face. I’m pretty sure he’s teasing me—just like he always has—but marriage isn’t something to joke about. Not when I’m pushing thirty with no hope in sight. And not when I’ve always had a huge, stupid crush on him.
Then he tells me he’s serious. He needs me to do it so he can keep his daughter.
I have to refuse. He’s always treated me like crap, which makes my feelings toward him even more sad and pathetic.
How can I not have a crush on him though? He’s always wearing a thin, tight undershirt that shows off his cut abs and broad shoulders, and despite what some people say about his chops as a father, he’s as sweet to his daughter as he is mean to me.
Maybe I can say “yes.” I’d be doing it for his daughter, not for him. And I certainly wouldn’t be doing it with the sad hope that he’d look at me as anything other than his sister’s dorky friend—that he’d touch me and make me—no, definitely not that.
**This is a full-length, standalone fake marriage romance. No cheating or cliffhangers, and a Happily Ever After is guaranteed!**

I've been a reader of romance novels my whole life. (I'm in my 40s). This one had great potential. It was easy to read and engaging. However, it was odd how church, God, and scriptures were mentioned in nearly every chapter. This was unexpected and kinda weird. Maybe it's expected from this author, but it's my first read from her. I'm not anti-religion, I'm just not fond of it in these books, just before a sex scene, especially.
Another issue I have is the length. I had the whole story read in less than an hour. One problem with ebooks is not really knowing what you are getting. I was 45% into the book, thinking the story will continue for some time. However it ended with previews of other books. This is the main reason I love a physical book. If you want a very quick read, with biblical scriptures in the middle of tattooed fighters and sex scenes, this is the book for you.

Single Dad Bride edition by Melinda Minx Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I loved this book! It is a wonderful mix of misguided affection, romance, comedy and turmoil. Deacon and Rita have known each other for years, but have barely tolerated one another because Rita's best friend happens to be Deacon's sister, Anna. Since the death of his wife, Deacon's in laws have been trying to get custody of his daughter. He decides that the best way to combat their plans is to get married again. Rita, whose life is falling apart, decides to help him in exchange for a place to live. Their underlying feelings erupt into passionate lovemaking and a strong, real marriage.
This was a nice quick read. I truly enjoyed reading Deacon's and Rita's story. Some reviewers mentioned the Bible scriptures. Yes, there are some but it is to develop Rita's character. To help the reader to understand her. It is no way is preaching to the reader. It was a quick but very enjoyable story. No, it isn't a 500 page novel. There are times when those are great but they can be exhausting.
If you want something light and enjoyable, I would recommend this book.
1st time reading this author, it was interesting, smut with god and scriptures in it that's new .. I did get a bit confused at times due to the tenses.. he said, I said, she said stuff.. but the lot as good, bad boy needs good girl (who was right under his nose the whole time) to fake marry him to keep hs daughter, there were funny parts too... I will NEVER forget TACO TUESDAY.. wow .. it has a happy ending which did seem rushed, not all my questions were answered, but over all it was enjoyable .
Single dad's bride is amazing. I had a good time reading this book. There was some errors, but over all Ms. Minx did her job amazingly. I was so blown away by Deacon. I love him from the very beginning of the book to the end. At times I wanted to slap him for being so mean to Rita, but it turnout amazing in the end. I did want to seriously slap Rita she was so annoying that she kept bugging deacon over and over over some stupid stuff and I want to like say get off your high horse that's in the past but I can understand what she was coming from but at times I wanted to knock her out to his like the beacon alone. Elsie was my favorite she was amazing little girl with really loved her dad and Annie was funny as hell being in Rita's best friend and deacons little sister that was amazing I had a good time reading this book.
Deacon lost his wife and is dealing with her parents who want to take his daughter away from him and raise her as they see fit. But he loves his daughter and wants to be the best dad he can be for her. But his job as a tattoo artist can bring some unsavory characters around – and his workplace is next to his house, posing a possible risk to his daughter’s safety. He has to always make sure not to draw unwanted attention from his in-laws who would use it against him. Then his lawyer called to warn him he had 30 days to find a decent, wholesome wife! It had to look real, a stable marriage to provide a decent home for Elsie. Otherwise, her grandparents would get custody!
While Deacon is facing this impossible task, his sister’s friend, Rita, tries to do the right thing for her insurance buyers. The company pushes cheap but ineffective policies; but her conscience won’t let her cheat them like that. Finally her boss fires her. When she goes home, she sees an eviction notice. Owing 3 months’ back rent, she has to move out. So she goes to see Anna – who lives with her brother, Deacon! Rita and Deacon have not gotten along well, but Anna offers to let her move in with them. She’s not sure yet if she is that desperate!
Deacon asks Anna for help finding a fake wife! They finally realize that Rita would be perfect -- if they can stand each other long enough! As expected, Rita refuses the fake marriage, but offers to take Deacon to Bible study to meet eligible women. But Rita was annoyed at the flirting and finally decided to take Deacon up on his offer. It’s only for Elsie, right? She can do this!
This was a cute story. I was surprised that I like it so much, right from the start. The main characters have good hearts and the reader will cheer for them. Definitely worth the read! I voluntarily read a review copy of this book and my comments reflect my honest opinion.
This is a good book. I loved the hard edges if Deacon who is a tattoo artist that is about to lose his daughter to his in-laws all because his wife had passed away and they don't think he can raise her right. Then the soft sweet side of Rita who was his sister best friend and just a wholesome person. At first she does not want Deacon so she is going to fix him up with some one in bible study until she realizes she is jelous so she decided to be Deacon wife so he can keep his daughter. Only thing is she really is in love with him and she does not think that he feels the same way. Time will tell.
I really injoy reading it. There is a lot of Bible talk and going back and forth with if it is really what God wants and has planed however it all comes out great. I think Deacon needs that to get over loosing his wife the way he did. There is a lot of dirty talk and sex to however it is after they are married and Rita a first does have a hard time with it. But once again it all is great for how the story works together.
